Coupon Codes

What are Coupon Codes?

Coupon codes can be created by a yearbook adviser and shared with whomever you like. The codes can be used during checkout to give your customers a specific dollar amount off the purchase price. The yearbook adviser can choose a start date, an expiration date, code, dollar amount, and number of uses.

Please note: Discounts that are given via coupon codes will come out of the profit that you make from yearbook sales. If you are not selling yearbooks for a profit, you will be responsible for paying the difference at the time you submit your orders for printing.

How to Create a Coupon Code

Before you can create a coupon code, you must have a yearbook in a store and published for sale. Once your book is published for sale, click the "Manage Sales" button found in the "Sell" section

Navigate to the "Coupons" tab and click the "New Coupon" button.

Now you can start filling in the details for the coupon code

Start Date: This is the day that your customers will be able to start using the coupon code

Expiration Date: This is the day that the coupon expires and can no longer be used. You can check the checkbox if you want the expiration date to be the same as your pre-order deadline date

Code: This is the code that your customers will enter during checkout to get the discount. The code must be 20 characters or less. Letters and numbers only

Dollar Amount: This is the dollar amount that will be discounted during checkout

Number of Uses: This allows you to choose the number of time a coupon code can be used per customer

Click the "Save" button when you are done entering all the information.

Editing/Deleting a Coupon Code

If you need to edit or delete an existing coupon code, you can click the "Edit" button by navigating to the "Coupons" tab

The only option that can be edited is the expiration date. Once you are finished editing the expiration date, you can click the "Save" button. If you need to delete the coupon code, simply click the "Delete" option

Tracking Coupon Code Usage

You can track the usage of your coupon code by navigating to the "Coupons" tab and viewing the usage overview. The overview will show you how many times the coupon has been used, the total amount discounted, the expiration date, and the discount amount of the coupon code. You can also see a list of everyone that has used the coupon code by clicking the "View Usage" drop down menu.

FAQs

How many times can a coupon code be redeemed?

You get to choose how many times a coupon code can be used when you create it. You can choose once per customer OR unlimited.

How does the coupon code get applied to an order?

Once the code has been entered at checkout, the order total is discounted the amount associated with the code. For example, if the customer is buying two books for the same recipient or for two recipients with an order total of $100 and applies a $10 off coupon code, then the order total becomes $90.

Will a coupon code work on more than one yearbook store?

No. The coupon code created for a yearbook project will only work in the store that the project is being sold.

Can coupon codes be combined with voucher codes?

No.

Are coupon codes applied after or before taxes?

Taxes are calculated first and the coupon code is applied after.

How many coupon codes can I offer in my store?

As many as you want to create. Remember the school is responsible for paying any balance not covered by the store’s profit at the time you send your orders to production.

Can I see who used coupon codes?

Yes. From the Coupons tab in Creator Studio where you created the coupon, you can find a list of all the orders and customers who redeemed.
