Page Manager Guide

What is Page Manager?

Page Manager gives you a bird's eye view of all the pages in your yearbook. In addition, Page Manager allows you to move sections, add pages, delete pages, and move pages. It also warns you what will happen to subsequent pages after you make a change. We will explore all of these topics in this article.

To access Page Manager, simply click the Manage button located at the top of your section ladder.

Page Manager should look similar to this, once opened:

Moving Sections

Moving sections within Page Manager is very easy. Simply click on the arrow symbol of the section you want to move, drag it to the desired position, and drop it.

If you are happy with the results, click the Save button in the bottom right.

Please note: Moving sections can lead to undesired results on pages that have already been designed. Please review the warnings that may be displayed at the bottom of Page Manager before saving your work. You can learn more about these warnings and how to fix them below.

Adding/Deleting/Moving Pages

Adding pages can be done by simply clicking on a page, selecting the number of pages to add, and clicking Before or After depending on where you want the pages.

To delete a page, click on "Delete Page" instead.

To move a page, drag the page you want to move and drop it onto the desired position. You can use the blue indicator line to visualize where the page will be dropped.

If you are happy with the results, click the Save button in the bottom right.

Understanding Page Warnings

Total number of added pages

When you add pages in Page Manager, you will notice new pages will be outlined like this

You will also notice this warning at the bottom of Page Manager (the number of pages added may vary)

This warning will keep track of how many pages are being added to your project, which may change the price.

Required pages added to prevent breaking spreads

When you add/delete/move pages in Page Manager, you may notice new "ghost pages" that are outlined like this

You will also notice a warning at the bottom of page manager (the number of pages added may vary)

This warning will keep track of how many new pages will need to be added to prevent the breaking of two-page spreads. These ghost pages are required if you want to add/delete/move single pages prior to a two-page spread. Alternatively, you can make sure to add/delete/move pages in pairs to prevent the need for ghost pages.

Please note: We highly recommend you wait until you have decided on a final page count before you convert any pages to a two-page spread. This will prevent the need for ghost pages when you attempt to add/delete/move single pages.

Pages that have shifted

When you add/delete/move pages in Page Manager, you may notice some of your existing pages look like this

You will also notice this warning at the bottom of Page Manager

This warning will notify you when there are pages in your book that were designed to be on the left or right side of a project and have now shifted to the opposite side due to pages being added/deleted/moved.

To correct this, you can try adding or deleting more pages before to the shifted pages to get them to fall back into place. Alternatively, you can move all the elements on the shifted pages to compensate for the shift in margins.

Adding pages in front of a locked section

When you add/delete/move pages before a locked section, you may notice some of your existing pages look like this

You will also notice this warning at the bottom of Page Manager

This warning will notify you when you attempt to add pages in front of a locked section that would cause a shift in those locked pages. We cannot allow any changes of any kind to be made to a locked section, so you will not be able to save your changes until you correct the problem.

To correct this, you can try adding or deleting more pages before the locked section to get rid of the red warning. Alternatively, you can unlock the section and then add/delete/move pages as desired. Please be sure to review the unlocked section afterwards to check for any pages that may have shifted.
